Today marks the 10th anniversary since the first Asan Imza certificate was presented to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at the Baku “ASAN Service” Center No. 3. Over the past decade, Asan Imza, Azerbaijan’s enhanced mobile electronic signature, has played a key role in the country’s digital transformation, enabling the widespread implementation of electronic services, digital transactions, and secure data management.
Developed by B.EST Solutions Azerbaijan and issued in cooperation with the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Asan Imza was initially integrated into the State Tax Service’s e-services to simplify electronic tax declaration submission for businesses.
A Key Tool for Digitalization Across Sectors
To date, Asan Imza has been adopted across more than 2,000 e-services in both the public and private sectors. It is widely used in taxation, customs procedures, declaration of goods, financial transactions, labor contract registration, and online applications. Key use cases include:
• Applying for preferential housing
• Mortgage lending
• Remote bank account opening
• Obtaining online guarantees for tenders
• Internet and mobile banking
• University admissions registration
• Managing personal accounts on the e-Court portal
• Accessing fine payment information
• Social insurance services, and much more.
By enhancing online processes, Asan Imza has transformed digital interactions, making them more convenient, faster, and, most importantly, secure.
A Milestone in Digital Transformation
The use of Asan Imza continues to grow each year, both in the number of transactions and in its integration across various services. The system has now surpassed 300 million transactions, with over 3 million Asan Imza certificates issued. This milestone reflects the trust and confidence of users in Azerbaijan’s innovative digital solutions, solidifying its role as a cornerstone of the country’s digital economy.
